(More customer reviews)When I upgraded my DirecTV to HD, whichever village my installer had just arrived from was shy one idiot. My HD channels were spotty at best and non-existent in wind. With this device and a ladder, I was able to quickly re-align my dish and improved my signal strength from 79% to 91%. All HD channels come through clearly now, even in a storm and through trees.
A couple of caveats, read the instructions carefully. The device pegged out at max gain when I tried to site it at the base of the dish. I had to splice it into the cable down near the ground to prevent interference from the dish. Also, it gets its power from the satellite receiver so you need to hook up both ends (duh) before you see any gain. If you don't hear a tone, you're not using it right.
